Some simple ideas to keep acid reflux at bay

Roasted (Bhuna) Chana and Fruits

Long intervals between meals, cause one to overeat.  This is what starts the stomach on the path to producing excess acid. This long gap between meals needs to be addressed. Roasted chana is a good option. Fleshy fruits (bananas, cheeku, sitafal, mangoes, cantaloupe..) are all great options to keep hunger at bay.

Up the Fiber Intake

This is one of the most delicious ways to combat acid reflux – eat more soluble and insoluble fiber. Digestive cookies (McVities etc.) are a great way to get some fiber into the system with your breakfast.

Apply (heated) castor oil over stomach and liver

Castor oil soothes inflammation like nothing else (of items that can be applied externally). Simply heat some oil in a bowl (30 secs in the microwave should do it). Then, generously apply it over your stomach and liver area.

Omeprazole  – If all else fails

To me, Omeprazole (nexium etc.) are all miracle workers – and one CAN reduce one’s acid production almost instantaneously. I take 20 mg in the morning and feel great the whole day.
