Whether you are moving from a SQLServer platform or any other relational
database (including Sybase, Informix) - or even an older Oracle database,
consider Anuj's migration
expertise for your next project. For starters, you will get a detailed
migration plan which includes all data (including unicode data) and all schema
objects including stored procedures. After the detailed plan, a trial migration
will be performed. For the actual migration, a two phase approach - which pulls
schema objects from a staging environment and production data from a live
environment - will be followed.
- Performance Bottlenecks: profiling,
index analysis, disk I/O, memory usage, CPU usage, transaction logs, transaction
logs, SQL statement tuning and related DBA tasks.
- Application Data Layer Design: Often
times, just investigating the database is not enough. The application tier
closest to the database can prove to be a major source of bottlenecks. This
includes database drivers as well as application code.
- Database Driver Selection: For maximum
application performance as well as migration issues (unicode data), Anuj has
worked closely with DataDirect, ODBC, OleDB and other drivers.
