Anuj Varma, SQL Server database design, development, migration and troubleshooting
| How have clients used Anuj's SQL Server programming services?
|
Some of the areas in which Anuj have helped clients with SQL Server include:
- Database Design: Relational database design including schema diagrams.
- Migration
towards SQL Server: Whether you are moving from an older SQLServer platform or an Access platform - or even an Oracle database, consider Anuj's migration expertise for your next project. For starters, you will get a detailed migration plan which includes
all data (including unicode data) and all schema objects including DTS packages. After the detailed plan, a trial migration will be performed. For the actual migration, a two phase approach - which pulls schema objects from a staging environment and production data from
a live environment - will be followed.
- Performance Bottlenecks: Anuj has worked
on the analysis and performance tuning of various databases - including SQL
Server, Oracle and Sybase. Using tools and techniques such as profiling, index
analysis, disk I/O, memory usage, CPU usage, transaction log analysis as well as
custom SQL Query inspection, Anuj has helped redesign schema objects and rewrite
queries to improve performance.
- Application Data Layer Design: Often times, just investigating the database is not enough. The application tier closest to the database can prove to be a major source of bottlenecks. This includes database drivers as well as application code.
Anuj is often called in to help troubleshoot performance issues for both web applications as well as desktop applications.
- Database Security: To ensure security at both - the application level as well as the database level - certain design decisions need to be made upfront. These
decisions are all within the scope of good application architecture design and
something that Anuj is able to assist with.
