Kiran Bedi was chosen by Arvind Kejriwal and Anna Hazare due to her uncompromising ideals, her uncorrupted record and her strength of character.

Lately, all of these qualities are called into question. Her departure from the ‘anti-corruption’ party (who was willingly granting her a top leadership position), towards the BJP (who promised her the Delhi CM position), is a clear indication of a ‘compromise’.

Kiran Bedi continues to tweet about how ‘life is all about change’ – and ‘look at the future , not the past’…but any discerning Indian will read this move for what it is. A shameful grasping of power , shelving all personal ideals and morals for the sake of that power.

It would be like Mahatma Gandhi aligning with the British empire towards the end of the freedom struggle – citing ‘change is good’ as his justification.

I did not see this coming. For me, Kiran Bedi is no longer a youth icon – or someone to look up to. I am disgusted by her tweets – which, at one point in time, were almost inspirational.
