Signs of a successful Lokpal bill
A LokPal bill by itself will not solve the problem. When used to achieve the following results, the bill will have served its purpose.
- Arrest and seize assets of all ‘brand-name’ corrupts (Corrupt Politicians – Mayawati, Sharad Pawar, Laloo Prasad..and others). For those currently in power, immediately replace with an administrative/judiciary official.
- Return all the seized money to the appropriate level (state level funds to the state level, city level funds back to the city, federal funds back to the central government).
- Remove any and all police protection of corrupt ministers/officers. Destroy the political-police nexus altogether.
