Azure Artifacts includes nuget’s repository – something that almost every project on earth uses. Hence, it came as a shocker to me that Visual Studio Professional does not give you access to Azure Artifacts. You have to go Enterprise for that (a difference of about $5000).

This got me on the phone with Microsoft to figure out a workaround. Fortunately, after speaking to a couple of people, I got someone who had an answer.

Basically, you CAN access artifacts with the Professional edition – you just need to purchase the Artifacts subscription separately (it costs a few dollars a month, so that’s much more reasonable). Whew- just saved $5000…
